Announcing the launch of
“Decentering the Center”: Featured Short Stories & Poetry
The inauguration features writer and poet Nauman Mir.
In the poems – “The Knife on my back” and “By my side” – Mir settles the reader in disruption as he moves us between heartache and heartwarming. In the short story “Red Hair,” Mir twists our expectations around honor killings, challenging the readers to rethink so-called primordial or essentialized characteristics—that women are naturally forgiving and nurturing—often foisted upon community identities.
Nauman Mir believes in writing spontaneously and discovering the themes as they appear from the subconscious. He has written short stories and recently has been enjoying writing poetry. He lives in Toronto, Canada. For comments, he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
